Mental Health Resources For Black, Indigenous, And People Of Color
Mental Health America has an entire hub dedicated to Mental health for BIPOC people and families. MHA uses a racial equity and intersectional lens to highlight, better understand, and effectively respond to the range of experiences held by individuals and families with diverse values, beliefs, and sexual orientations, in addition to backgrounds that vary by race, ethnicity, religion, and language.

Becoming a Family-Focused System: Strategies for Building a Culture to Partner With Families
Provides strategies, examples, and resources for promoting a culture and climate that supports partnering with families to improve outcomes for children and families. An organizational culture that prioritizes families is vital to improving family engagement and continuity of relationships in child welfare. Program staff can adapt strategies and examples from this publication to improve specific areas of culture and climate to support partnering with families after conducting an assessment.
Black Parent Alliance
The Black Parents Alliance works within the community to discuss relevant topics, gain information, and make decisions to improve the education of BIPOC children. They advocate for policies that improve the intellectual, social, and emotional success of Black scholars and families; empower and give voice to the concerns and successes of Black families and scholars in Tacoma; and mobilize allies within the community to highlight the need for more robust systems of support for Black scholars.
Pregnancy Support
Are you a woman of color who has experienced the loss of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, TFMR, or infant death? Join a Return to Zero Hope virtual support group! It is important for women of color to feel a connection to others who have experienced a similar loss, and to talk about their loss in a safe space.
BIPOC Foster Families Facebook Group
Amara has recently launched a BIPOC Facebook group! This private Facebook group is for foster parents, kinship caregivers, and those who have adopted/guardianship through foster care who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and/or Person of Color) to share thoughts and ideas while experiencing foster/kinship care, and to meet other BIPOC foster and kinship parents to share resources and build community. This Group is a safe space for BIPOC foster caregivers to support one another through these unique experiences with the child welfare system.

Consejo Counseling and Referral Services
Consejo is a licensed, award-winning treatment center offering outpatient behavioral health care, trauma-informed care, and supportive transitional housing to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as their families. Since 1978, Consejo has been providing services to children, youth, adults, and elders in King, Pierce, and Thurston/Mason Counties.
Hummingbird Indigenous Doulas
Hummingbird Indigenous Doula Services is a culturally responsive, full-spectrum, Indigenous doula program. They provide free-of-cost services to American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander families birthing in King County.
